SPELLS FOR FORGETTING - EXCLUSIVE BLOGGER BREAKFAST WITH ADRIENNE YOUNG!

I was so kindly invited by the lovely folks over at Quercus books to attend a blogger event for the upcoming release of Spells For Forgetting by my favourite author Adrienne Young!

For those of you that don’t know me already, I have been a long-time fan of Adrienne’s work, ever since before her debut YA novel Sky In The Deep was released a few years ago.

Spells For Forgetting is Adrienne’s debut adult novel, and it looks as spellbinding as it sounds! I mean come on, just look at that stunning cover…

The event was so fun and relaxed, with a lovely selection of breakfast and drinks. Kat and Ellie did a wonderful job of organising the event, and were so lovely to talk to.

The rooftop was absolutely stunning, and had some incredible views. The weather was perfect too, not as hot as it has been in the UK recently. We really lucked out on the sunshine, without the sky-high temperatures!

I cannot wait to pick this book up - it’s one of my most anticipated releases of the year (the other two being Saint, also by Adrienne Young, and Babel by R. F. Kuang)

If you’ve somehow missed any talk of Spells for Forgetting, here’s what the book is about:

‘’There were tales that only the island knew. Ones that had never been told. I knew, because I was one of them.’

Emery Blackwood’s life was forever changed on the eve of her high school graduation, when the love of her life, August Salt, was accused of murdering her best friend, Lily. She’d once dreamt of running away with August, eager to escape the misty, remote shores of Saoirse Island and chase new dreams together. Now, she is doing what her teenage self swore she never would: living a quiet existence among this tight-knit community steeped in folklore and tradition, ruled by the seasons and ancient superstitions.

But when August returns after fourteen years to bury his mother’s ashes, Emery must confront her first love and the reason he left so abruptly. But the town wants August gone again. And as the island begins to show signs of strange happenings, the emergence of deep betrayals and hidden promises threatens to reveal the truth behind Lily’s death once and for all.’
