To celebrate hitting fourteen thousand readers (!!) I thought I would do the Meet the Book Blogger challenge by Bibliomavens! I've been blogging for over ten years now, so I think it is the perfect time to reintroduce myself!
Hi, I'm Elfie! Here are a few bookish fact's about me:
- My favourite genre is fantasy
- I prefer hardbacks over paperbacks
- I'm not a huge fan of romance in books
- I love audiobooks, and they're super helpful for my dyslexia!
- I have an undergraduate degree in English Literature, but I have read embarrassingly few classics!
- Some of my favourite classics that I have read, though, are Little Women by Louisa May Alcott, A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens and the Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson!
WHO IS YOUR ALL-TIME FAVOURITE BOOK CHARACTER?
This is such a hard question - but I think I'm going to go with Percy Jackson. I've reread this series so many times, and I think Percy is a brilliant main character. He's funny, relatable and I love that we get to see Percy grow up throughout the series.
IF YOU WERE STRANDED ON A DESERT ISLAND, WHICH BOOK WOULD YOU TAKE WITH YOU? (SURVIVAL BOOKS DO NOT COUNT.)
Ooh this is another really hard question. I guess I would take Fable by Adrienne Young. It's one of my favourite books of all time, and part of it is set on an island, so it would be a fitting book to read!
WHAT’S YOUR MOST UNPOPULAR BOOK OPINION?
Probably that I prefer hardbacks to paperbacks. They're sturdier, and they are much harder to damage than a standard paperback. Plus, you don't have to worry about cracking the spine!
WHAT’S YOUR WEIRDEST BOOKISH HABIT?
I don't think I have one! I can't think of any weird bookish habits, to be honest!
WHAT CHARACTER WOULD YOU BRING TO A FAMILY EVENT AS YOUR FAKE PARTNER?
Jacks from Once Upon a Broken Heart by Stephanie Garber. I feel like it would be complete chaos, and therefore absolutely hilarious.
WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO START A BOOK BLOG?
My blog didn't start off as a book blog! It was more of a general lifestyle blog, but it was when I joined BookTube that I began transforming my blog to a bookish blog specifically. In the past I mostly blogged about ballet and books (my blog was originally called Ballet & Books!)
WHAT ABOUT READING AND BOOKS DO YOU LOVE THE MOST?
I think the comfort it brings to me. I find reading helps a lot with my anxiety, so I think that might be one of my favourite things about reading.
WHAT IS YOUR FIELD OF STUDY/DESIRED PROFESSION/CURRENT PROFESSION?
I'm currently studying a writing based master's degree. I write and blog, but I also have a day job that is nothing to do with writing!
